What's The Theme?
I can identify a theme in a literary text and cite specific textual evidence that supports the theme. I can identify a theme in a literary text and cite specific textual evidence that supports that theme. Write about a time someone helped you when they didn’t want to. What did they learn from that experience? What did you learn from that experience?
Theme is the message learned or the lesson the author wants you to learn. Examples:Kindness, honesty, perseverance. Text evidence in a quote, detail, or event from a story that supports an idea or interpretation. (Matching) The students had a worksheet where the pieces were cut out, some of them were bolded and they had to find the correct matching theme that went along with the bolded words. Before the kids came in me and Mrs. Baxter cut out the cards and placed them on the students desk, then as the kids came in and got settled I explain to them what we were going to be doing with the activity. After all that, Mrs. Baxter put the students into groups. Then from there it was on the students to work together and match everything correctly. I walked around helping the students as needed and answering questions as needed as well. As they were finishing up, I helped Mrs. Baxter go around and check their papers. When everyone was finished the students turned them into the tray.
Everything went right just like the way it was supposed to the kids all got into groups of anywhere from 2-4 and they began to match their cards.
There were no needed changes during this lesson plan.
To conclude, everything went according to plan during the first mini-teach. I really enjoyed helping the kids with the questions that they had and walking around to help them.
