3.1 Elementary Observation

In my second period class "Intro to Education" we had a wonderful opportunity to go observe classes from the Elementary two different times with two different teachers. My two teachers that I got the opportunity to go watch were Mrs. Dale's Kindergarten class and Mrs. Young's third grade class. My perspective as a Junior in High School I was excited to see how teachers taught younger students and what all there was still to learn!

Elementary school one: Mrs. Dale-Kindergarten
As I walked into her classroom Mrs. Dale had a visitor there with her kids doing a small shape coloring activity with Mrs. Henley. What caught my attention was how all the kids were well behaved for how young they are while respectfully following the directions given by Mrs. Henley and how nice all the kids were to others around them including myself.

Elementary school two: Mrs. Owens-first grade
Mrs. Owne's students were in enrichment (Art class) when I first arrived so I went in to see what her students were working on, which was doing centers where you go to different tables to color, paint, etc. As they were coming to an end, we headed back to her classroom and I got to watch them learn about blending words together (like how they sound.) What Caught my attention during this time I go to observe is how Mrs. Owens was teaching her students by asking them questions and if they get it right they get a reward.

Positive takeaway:
My positive takeaway from this opportunity to be able to observe a third grade class is that there is still so much you can learn, even when you're older. I liked how she kept her class in order it wasn't wild or out of control.

Conclusion:
To conclude my time at the Elementary school of me observing a first grade and kindergarten class ,it was a fun experience getting to watch the two different teachers with two different grade levels teach their students and them listening to what she had to say. If I had to be a teacher I would prefer the elementary.
